Defined in MEF 55, LSO Interface Reference Points (IRP) are the logical points of interaction between specific functional management components (LSO Architectural Entities). They can be thought of as convenient conceptual boundary points where APIs are 'located'. The reference points are shown below in the LSO Reference Architecture diagram.

The seven LSO Interface Reference Points fall into two categories:

Intra-Domain (or Intra-Company, or 'North-South')

  • LSO Legato for service management by the Service Provider/Operator
  • LSO Presto for network management by the Service Provider/Operator
  • LSO Adagio for resource management by the Service Provider/Operator

Inter-Domain (or Inter-Company, or 'East-West')

  • LSO Cantata for commercial/business management of the subscriber service by the Customer via the Service Provider Business Applications
  • LSO Allegro for operations management of the subscriber service by the Customer via the Service Provider Service Orchestration Functionality
  • LSO Sonata for commercial/business management of the wholesale product by the Service Provider via the Operator Business Applications
  • LSO Interlude for operations management of the wholesale service by the Service Provider via the Operator Service Orchestration Functionality
