Minimally Qualified Candidate

The Minimally Qualified Candidate (MQC) determination is integral to a valid and reliable certification exam. This main character must be clearly-defined before starting the exam development project. From designing the blueprint, composing test questions to identifying the passing score, the MQC Profile provides subject matter experts (SMEs) with a mental picture to help them determine the point of separation between minimally-proficient and less-than-proficient qualifications.

The candidate should have 2 years networking experience, a basic understanding of L2 switching, L3 routing and commonly implemented IP protocols (TCP, BGP, UDP, etc.), potentially have a role in the deployment, design, maintenance, and troubleshooting networks in a traditional WAN environment including, but not limited to: MPLS, Ethernet, mobile technologies, etc. and possesses vendor-neutral skills in software-centric networking technologies.

Preferred network professionals for MEF-SDCP include:

  • Sales Engineers
  • Network Engineer who can demonstrate their ability to manage SD-WAN systems/ Operation Engineers

  • System Engineers (e.g., Application Engineers etc.)

  • Network Engineer Managers

  • Network Consulting Engineers

  • Product Developers

  • Enterprise Solution Designers

  • Network Architects

  • Product Support and IT Directors
