The MEF develops standards in the form of specifications which, once approved by the MEF membership, are published to the public domain for voluntary adoption and for the benefit of the whole industry. There are currently over 50 70 MEF specifications covering a range of topics such as LSOstandards covering MEF 3.0 orchestrated SD-WAN, IP, Carrier Ethernet service architecture, definitions, attributes, and OAMand Optical Transport services.
