An SD-WAN service is deployed across multiple ISPs to achieve the WAN resiliency using multiple WANs plus different ISPs. The ISP’s Internet connection could be a broadband service using DSL or Cable Internet or a dedicated Internet access (DIA) service or a combination thereof.

Because the ISPs may not be the CSP or MSP delivering the SD-WAN managed service, this use case could be applied to a larger SD-WAN managed service deployment where both sites are off-net and can only be reached via an Internet WAN. Furthermore, by having multiple ISPs and multiple Internet WANs for each site, the CSP or MSP offering the
SD-WAN managed service could offer a better SLA due to the added WAN resiliency.
