The focus of this quarters report will be the announcement of the 2022 MEF Recognition Awards recipients, including the Distinguished Fellow, Outstanding Contributors, Top Contributors and Editors of recent completed standards. Nan will also lay out his vision for MEF progress in 2023.
CTO Report– Pascal Menezes, CTO, MEF
In the context of MEF's evolving and successful technical vision and strategy, Pascal will recap MEF's accomplishments in 2022 and elucidate his expectations for industry trends in 2023 and beyond. Both broad and specific MEF work priorities for 2023 will be touched on with an emphasis on industry adoption.
Automation is a primary focus, including the introduction of LSO Operational APIs, a new Secure Network-as-a-Service initiative and the evolution to blockchain-based billing and settlement.
Following on from MEF's recent release of MEF 117 (SASE) and MEF 118 (Zero Trust) frameworks, Pascal will also discuss activities to drive adoption of these standards, their continuation in new releases and the potential for related MEF certification programs.
Panel 1 – Next Generation SD-WAN and SASE Certifications
This panel discusses how enterprises can benefit by demanding new, innovative SD-WAN and SASE certifications that are being planned for 2023. It also touches on the need for MEF to explore new marketing approaches to reach enterprise audiences.

The New "MEF Showcase" - Daniel Bar-Lev, VP Strategic Programs, MEF
The MEF Showcase is launching in pilot phase in Q1 2023. It will provide an ongoing framework to feature projects initiated by MEF members using MEF work for important industry use cases. This session will introduce its objectives, milestones, and how members can participate. Examples of MEF Showcase projects being contemplated or started including: Televerse DAO (ENNI Visibility); SLA Assurance; Billing and Settlement using blockchain; Self-sovereign identity based MEF membership, MEF certification and LSO API profile; Address validation; Wholesale edge compute and more will be discussed.

This short panel highlights the initial projects and member teams underway and discusses opportunities for member engagement throughout 2023 and in the MEF flagship event.
